About Storytime Explorers

A story world where children can feel seen, connected, capable, and curious.

Storytime Explorers began with a simple idea: stories can help children make sense of the moments they are already living through.

Taking turns, asking for help, feeling frustrated, trying again, getting ready, wondering about the world, and learning how to be with others may look like everyday moments, but for toddlers and preschoolers, they are also the building blocks of emotional growth, language, independence, problem-solving, and connection.

The stories are rooted in real childhood experiences, but they give children a little space to learn through kind, relatable animal characters. The narration is warm and steady, the pace gives children time to listen and imagine, and the repetition helps familiar ideas begin to stick.

At the center of it all is connection: connection to their own feelings, to their grown-ups, to other children, and to the world around them.

As a parent, I’ve seen how much children absorb through stories: the words, the feelings, the familiar phrases, and the comfort of hearing something that sounds a little like their own life. And with my background in pediatrics, I know these small moments are where so much early learning begins.

I’m so glad you’re here. I hope Storytime Explorers brings more imagination, connection, and ease into your day.

Who’s Behind the Stories?

I’m Halie! A mom, a writer, and someone who’s endlessly curious about how children learn. I have a doctorate in nursing practice with a focus on pediatric primary care, and I’ve spent years immersed in child development, using that experience to guide everything I create.

I’ve always been drawn to the way young children learn, not just through big milestones, but through the small, repeated moments that shape how they understand themselves and the world around them.

Storytime Explorers started with my own child, during the quiet, ordinary moments when a story seemed to help something click. I noticed how much she was absorbing: the words, the feelings, the repetition, the comfort of hearing something familiar, and the way a story could make something new or hard feel a little easier to understand.

That was my aha moment.

I saw how storytelling could calm her, engage her, make her laugh, and help her connect with something she was learning or feeling. And I wanted to create that feeling for other families too.

Storytime Explorers is my way of bringing together real parenting life, child development, and storytelling. The stories are warm and playful, but written with intention. They use rhythm, repetition, and developmentally thoughtful language so children can take in new ideas through stories that feel familiar, meaningful, and fun, without pressure.

If you’re looking for stories that feel thoughtful, meaningful, and made for the real moments of childhood, I’m right there with you.

That’s why I made this.
